Justin Jackson
Justin Jackson is thrilled to be a member of the Playground Theater. Justin is a graduate of the IO Theater, ComedySportz, and the Second City Conservatory. He has been performing with Mustang Repair since March of 2006. In the past, Justin has performed with "Something Clever" productions in Happy Ending 1, 2 & 3, as well as SMUT and Horrid. He was also a member of Dirty South Improv and "The Beatbox" from 2004-2006 as a member of the DSI ensemble. At the iO Theater, Justin performed with the Harold team "Search Party" and was also lucky enough to be cast in "The Lottery"... He was also a member of the ComedySportz Battle Prov team "Thunder Thieves." Justin is one half of the hip-hop comedy duo "Adventure Club" with Chicago emcee "Me Myself and Rhyme" (Daryl Amandes) which was named "Best Bet" by the Chicago Tribune, "Critics Choice" by TimeOut Chicago and "Reader Recommended" by the Chicago Reader. Justin has performed with various teams at various improv festivals all over the United States, including the Philadelphia Improv festival, Oberlin Improv Festival, Courageous Mongoose Improv Festival, Indiana University's College Improv Festival, the Dirty South Improv Implosion and the Del Close Marathon in New York. In 2007, he worked for Jonathan Pitts as the Artistic Director for Chicago Improv Festival's College Comedy Championships. Justin has released 4 albums under the hip hop moniker "Runner-Up" including: "First Place Loser", "Broken Tape" (available now on iTunes) as well as "Master of Nothing" and "Winning" (not available on iTunes). Before music and theater life, Justin was (believe it or not) an NCAA Division I scholarship athlete competing for Loyola University Chicago's track and cross country programs. Justin would like to thank his lovely lady Cassie Fox, his lovely daughter Juniper Ruby, his lovely parents, his lovely friends, his lovely teammates on Mustang Repair and of course Matt Barbera for giving him so many countless opportunities to perform with so many lovely people at the Playground Theater.
