THE PLAYGROUND THEATER is a 501(c)3 nonprofit theater run entirely by artists, students, and volunteers. Like so many other theaters, we lost our space due to the pandemic. We’re excited to get back to work, though it is *bittersweet* to begin anew with no ahome.

It became clear to us this past year that we’ve always been much more than a venue. We’re a safe place to build and enjoy community. So that’s what we’re doing here. We’re recruiting the entire community for this event and want as many Playgrounders as possible — past & present, near & far — to be a part of it.

WHAT: A 24-Hour Live & Virtual Festival Fundraiser!

WHEN: Friday, October 8th to Saturday, October 9th (Exact times TBD, Central Time)

WHERE: The Lincoln Lodge – 2040 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL and Online through multiple platforms

SAFETY: We are paying close attention to COVID developments and CDC guidelines. The venue is VAX ONLY and proof of vaccination must be shown upon entry. Audience must remain masked, except when enjoying refreshments. Tables and chairs will be distanced and there will be a break between live shows to sanitize. Our safety procedures are subject to change.

GOAL: Our fundraising goal is $100,000. The money we raise will go to artist and staff pay, youth & community outreach, and a new home sometime next year.
